Discover the many facets of black tea – a fully oxidised tea, resulting in dark, full-bodied infusions bursting with flavors of malt, fruit, chocolate, and spice.
Most of our high-quality whole leaf teas can be enjoyed pure, allowing you to savor their full flavor. For a more classic taste, try our Assam Breakfast or Organic English Breakfast blend.
Everything you need to know for a perfect cup, in one place.
Black tea is distinguished by its full oxidation process, during which the leaves are completely fermented after picking. This gives it its dark colour, bold flavour, and rich, malty aroma. It contains more caffeine than green or white tea, providing a stimulating yet balanced effect. Major growing regions include India (Assam, Darjeeling), Sri Lanka (Ceylon), and China (Yunnan).
AVANTCHA black teas are sourced from the finest gardens and carefully processed to capture their full aroma. The collection combines classic and rare varieties with a focus on purity, depth, and balance.
Use 2–3 g or 1 teabag per 250 ml of water. Brew with 95–100 °C water and let steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on your preferred intensity.
Store black tea airtight, dry, and away from light, ideally in a metal or glass container. This keeps its rich aroma intact for longer.
