About Yunnan Rose Pearls

A lightly flavoured black tea with notes of malt and honey from Dian Yin, Yunnan in South West China. Hand-rolled with rose petals, we have also enhanced the rose flavour by adding a touch of natural rose essence. Upon contact with hot water the pearls unravel releasing their flavour and romantic scent, making the experience visually and sensorially engaging.

About Yunnan

The true home of tea, Yunnan has an amazingly varied landscape with excellent conditions for growing tea - warm temperatures, good rainfall, and mineral-rich soils. Indeed, some of China’s most famous tea come from the region, particularly black teas and Pu Erh. 

Cultivation

Farmer Mr Kang produces the black tea in gardens at an elevation of 850m above sea level in sub-tropical climes, allowing the tea leaves to become large and luscious before they are picked, fully oxidised, dried and hand rolled into pearls with natural and fragrant rose petals. 

Effects 

Black tea is great for heart health as they are packed with flavonoids, and rose has long been used in Chinese medicine to open the heart and improve blood flow. The romantic quality of this tea is soothing for the senses, too. 

How to Enjoy 

Enjoy the decadence of the occasion by pairing this tea with rich chocolate brownies or cakes, or light, juicy fruit like lychees or strawberries in the afternoon.
