About Decaff Ceylon Orange Pekoe

This Ceylon Orange Pekoe black tea is mild in flavour and gently decaffeinated by natural methods. The wonderful subtle orange aroma leaves an unforgettable aftertaste. With its medium brown colour, deep red hues, and a light, honey-sweet aroma, this Ceylon black tea is a favourite for those sensitive to caffeine who still want to enjoy their black tea. Enjoy this exquisite and thirst-quenching black tea any time of day.

About Ceylon tea

Ceylon tea refers to teas from the growing regions of Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon. In altitudes between 1,000 and 2,000 meters, aromatic, flavourful teas grow. Ceylon teas are known for their medium-bodied, tangy, slightly malty, and fresh taste, often reminiscent of citrus fruits. Harvesting depends on the monsoon rains: where it doesn’t rain, harvesting occurs – in the island's centre year-round. Sri Lanka is one of the world's largest tea exporters, and Ceylon tea is a main component of many English blends.

Effects

Compared to other teas, Ceylon teas have a higher potassium content. Potassium is essential for health, especially for the heart, as it relaxes the veins and arteries. This lowers blood pressure and relieves the heart. Our Decaff Orange Pekoe is caffeine-free and thus suitable for enjoyment at any time of day.

How to enjoy

Enjoy our Decaff Ceylon Orange Pekoe in the afternoon or evening. Its mild, fruity flavour pairs excellently with sweet pastries like lemon biscuits, honey cake, or a delicate almond tart. The subtle orange aromas also complement a light yogurt dessert or a fresh fruit salad.
