About Tea Flowers

Also known as blooming teas or tea roses, these delicate creations are made from carefully hand-picked leaves of White Yin Zhen Silver Needle tea from Fujian Province, China. The leaves are artfully sewn into small tea balls, encasing flowers like jasmine, chrysanthemum, or lily, which bloom beautifully when steeped.

History

The exact origins of tea roses remain a topic of debate – some sources claim they are a modern invention from the past few decades, while others suggest that variations have existed for centuries. It is believed that as far back as the Song Dynasty (960–1279), Chinese tea leaves were tied into flower shapes to entertain the emperor.
