About Long Jing
Long Jing is a roasted green tea originating from the area around Longjing village, near Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, eastern China. While definitions of Longjing vary, a widely accepted standard is that authentic Longjing must come from Zhejiang. The variety produced in the Xihu (West Lake) region is especially renowned, and is considered one of China’s ten most famous teas.
Cultivation
Long Jing Dragon Well green tea is carefully hand-processed to ensure the highest quality. After being freshly picked, the leaves are wok-fried for about 20 minutes to halt oxidation, preserving their vibrant green colour and delicate flavour. The art of wok frying requires precision and skill, so much of the process remains done by hand, reflecting the traditional craftsmanship that defines this tea.
