To prepare Matcha properly, you will need a Matcha scoop for accurate measuring, a fine sieve for lump-free powder, and a bamboo whisk with numerous bristles for smooth whisking. A Matcha bowl provides the ideal shape to blend the Matcha into a creamy, even consistency.

For the perfect Matcha latte, whisk 4.5g Matcha with 50ml of water (75–80 °C) in a bowl using a bamboo whisk (chasen) until smooth and frothy. Then add 150ml of your preferred steamed or cold milk.

The bamboo whisk is essential because its fine bristles create the smooth, creamy foam that defines well-prepared Matcha. It blends the powder evenly with water and delivers a balanced, harmonious texture that is central to traditional Matcha preparation.
