Our Green Tea Collection

Green tea is one of the oldest and most popular tea varieties in the world. Mainly produced in Japan and China, the leaves undergo meticulous processing after harvest. In Japan, they are steamed, while in China, they are pan-fired to halt oxidation. This preserves the fresh, green colour of the leaves and imparts a lively flavour to the tea, best enjoyed pure.

Our diverse selection of green teas ranges from the finest and most renowned loose teas from China and Japan to luscious blends with whole, natural ingredients like flowers, fruits, and herbs. Discover the benefits of green tea and find your perfect variety for any occasion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know for a perfect cup, in one place.

What is green tea?

Green tea is one of the most treasured and ancient tea varieties, primarily produced in Japan and China. After harvesting, the leaves are gently treated – steamed in Japan and pan-roasted in China – to prevent oxidation. This preserves their vivid green hue and fresh, invigorating taste.

What makes AVANTCHA green tea special?

AVANTCHA green teas are sourced directly from selected organic gardens and stand for purity and freshness. Each variety perfectly balances delicate lightness with complex flavour.

How do I prepare green tea properly?

Use approx. 1 teaspoon of tea per 250 ml of water at 75–80 °C. Steep for 2–3 minutes to avoid bitterness and preserve the delicate aroma.

How should I store green tea to preserve its flavour?

Store green tea airtight, cool, and away from light – ideally in a sealed tin or in the refrigerator. This keeps it aromatic and fresh.
